What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, translated to the “science of the lifespan”, is a traditional holistic natural approach to health that focuses on the mind, body, and spirit. Maharishi Ayurveda views this tradition from a scientific perspective and recognizes there’s an inner intelligence, when tapped into, can increase awareness of choices and habits to improve quality of life. Dis-ease, or a body not at ease, happens when the body loses connection to the inner intelligence. By reconnecting with our inner intelligence, we make better choices, we feel more in control of our life and our health.
Ayurveda, Yoga, & Meditation
How are they connected?
Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation are sister disciplines rooted in Vedic knowledge, to create wellness and balance in the mind, body, and soul. By practicing all three together, it enlivens the inner intelligence. Yoga enlivens the body and energy; meditation calms and sharpens the mind; while Ayurveda personalizes lifestyle, diet, and routines. Practicing all three together creates a synergistic lifestyle for wellness.
Counseling Meets Ayurveda
The journey towards improved well-being isn’t a one size fits all. Each individual should be assessed, identifying what’s unique to their body type, the imbalances they’re experiencing, and identify tools and recommendations based on their needs. When we combine counseling with Ayurveda, we’re able to provide education and support, as well as a much wider variety of techniques and tools to help the whole individual.
My unique approach combines evidence-based counseling techniques, aromatherapy, nutrition education and Ayurvedic knowledge and tools. Intertwining more modern evidence-based techniques with ancient wisdom, opens the door for finding what works best for each individual on their wellness journey.
When health is the goal, using all possible tools and techniques gives the best chance of finding the right ones for you.

About Me
My name is Ashley Spaulding, I’m a wife and mother of 2 young boys. I’ve been a credentialed addictions counselor for over a decade treating individuals on an outpatient level for drugs, alcohol, and gambling. My focus was on helping individuals with addiction through evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These types of therapies help individuals understand triggers, thought patterns, and behavioral patterns, to help change habits. After developing two programs to increase treatment availability in my community, I acquired my Masters degree in Ayurveda and Integrated Medicine in 2024. Since then, I’ve been combining trauma-informed, evidence-based techniques with ancient wisdom and traditional medicine. By integrating these two disciplines, it creates a unique approach to health and wellness.
